Cool Brake Lights

I went to replace the bulbs for my passanger side brake lights when i noticed both bulbs on this side were out and the third brake light, after discovering it wasnt the bulbs but that little black box next to them in the trunk i wiggled the connection and everything came back on and was fine for the last 3 days, now same problem and brake lights will only work if i hold the connector in the box with alot of pressure or wedge something under the clip like a flat head screwdriver...does this mean the black box is bad or the plug that goes into it??
thanks.

Unplug that connector and see if there are any loose pins or corrosion in that connector.

connections look fine on both the box and the plug except that ive noticed the plug doesnt "bottom out" when its plugged in, the little clip that holds it in on the bottom probably has no tension left from being old. i used a small spring clamp to keep the plug completely pushed in, its a quick fix until i can get to the junk yard or buy a new one.
