Brake lights

- Check the no. 30 (20A) located in the under-hood fuse/relay box.
- Check for power at the brake light bulb connectors. If no power, move to next step.
- Check the ground wire G551, which is located at the left rear of trunk.
- At the brake light switch, check for 12 volt power at the WHT/YEL wire. Then with the brake pedal depressed, verify power at the GRN/WHT wire which goes to the brake lights.
- If there is power at the GRN/WHT wire at the brake switch, then the brake switch is functionally properly.
- Check for power at the GRN/WHT wire to at the Brake Light Failure Sensor, located at the left rear of trunk. If there is power at the GRN/WHT wire; but, no power at the bulb connectors, then the failure sensor may possibly be faulty.
- Also check the wire connector terminals for corrosion; connectors are firmly attached; wires are good, etc.

If that is the case, then fuse no. 30 (20A) is probably okay.
Since the high mount brake light stays on, check to see if the pedal stopper pad is still there. If not, there's your problem for the brake light staying on.

Otherwise, the brake light switch may need adjustment or replacement to fix the brake light staying on.
Now we move on to the other brake lights not working:

Now we move on to the other brake lights not working:
- If the brake lights were staying on, did you check the brake light bulbs to see if they are blown?
- Check for power at the brake light bulb connectors. If no power, move to next step.
- Check the ground wire G551, which is located at the left rear of trunk. These brake lights use a different ground than the high-mount brake light (the high mount use ground G501, which is under the driver seat and that should be okay since the high mount lights).
- Check for power at the GRN/WHT wire to at the Brake Light Failure Sensor, located at the left rear of trunk. If there is power at the GRN/WHT wire; but, no power at the bulb connectors, then the failure sensor may possibly be faulty.
