2000 Accord EX got home today from work and the brake lights remained on after engine turned off and key removed. Pulled the battery negative cable off and when reconnected they were still on. Looking for the relay or other problem. Anyone know where I should start?

 

Check to see if the brake pedal stopper pad is still there.

Crawled under the dash and saw the plastic brake switch pad broken in pieces. Went to a local auto parts store and returned home with new one. Several minutes later the problem was fixed. Thanks to all who contributed their knowledge and experience. Y'all saved me.
