Brake Lights Stuck ON

Brake Lights Stuck ON
I just walked outside and noticed the front yard glowing red behind my car, the brake lights are stuck on.. I started the car, hit the brakes repeatedly, engaged/disengaged e-brake, switched car off, started again, drove around the block hitting the brakes.. and nothing. I have no idea what is wrong.. the car is a 1990 Accord. Any ideas?

RE: Brake Lights Stuck ON
I went and looked again, saw something in my floorboard that I thought was a broken crayon (little brother) but I picked it up and it was plastic.. like the pointed end of a blue crayon lol.. looked at the brake light switch and pressed it with a screwdriver, lights went off.. can I find that plastic piece anywhere or use something instead that will not compromise my brake lights dependability?

RE: Brake Lights Stuck ON
you can get a stopper at the dealer , it is not expensive at all.. what it does is to keep the brake switch plunger from coming out to far as if when you step on the brakes,, , if it is missing , the brake switch plunger will come out more thus brake lite will always be on

RE: Brake Lights Stuck ON
the nearest honda dealer to me is like 45 minutes away so I took a flat head bolt, grinded the head down to the same thickness of the plastic original piece, put some loctite on it and bolted it through the hole. works great, and now I know it cant break lol.
