brake and suspension problems
I have a 94 Accord EX with ABS. My master cylinder has gone bad and I need to replace it. I know you should usually get OEM Honda parts, but if I get an Autozone/Pep Boys cylinder, would that be a bad idea and is the Honda part that much more beneficial to the performance of the brakes? Also, is replacing the front sway bar bushings a fairly easy job for the guiy with average car repair skills or one that needs to be done by a pro?
Sway bar bushings are fairly easy, no special tools required. As for the master cylinder I don't think they are that expensive. check out this thread. It's on a 95 so all the info should pertain to your car as well.

Thanks but I had already checked that thread out. Actually, my local dealer has it for $154.00 and Autozone has it for $75. That's why I was wondering if the AZ one is ok to get. I don't suppose thier brands would be Adler or Denso? I would rather go AZ if they are generally fine for cylinders since I won't have to wait on my dealer to order it. I wouldn't mind ordering from Majestic($94), but how long do they take to ship? So what do you guys think aftermarket cylinders assuming AZ doesn't carry Adler or Denso which are supposed to be the OEM for Honda?
I've got stuff from Majestic or Manchester pretty quickly.
Here's my 2 cents...The cheaper MC would probably work OK as far as brake performance goes. I expect the difference is lifespan of the part.
Oneother thing might be the length of the pushrod. The MC pushrod (new vs. old) has to be exactly the same. If not, there's a $$pecial tool you use to adjust the pedal pushrod to compensate. If you decide to go AZ, I would take the old MC along & hold them up for exact comparison and then decide whether to buy.

Thanks everyone for the replies - I guess I might as well spend the extra $30 bucks and get the OEM part from Majestic. I sure hope they ship fast because I need this by no later than this coming Monday
