Default Brakes are applied by them self

When backing up the brakes are applied severely by the car not me. It happened also going forward. This has happened several times. I eventually was told to disconnect my battery of both cables for 15 minutes. The explanation was it would reset the computer. This took care of the problem but now 1500 - 2000 miles later it’s happening again. The battery and alternator have been checked twice and they both are good. The dealer has no service bulletins pertaining to this issue. I have a 2013 Honda Accord EX V6. Help

Has any work been done to the brakes lately? This can happen for a few different reasons:
- If the pushrod for the brake pedal to the master cylinder is not adjusted correctly.
- If any of the rubber brake hoses at the wheels is deteriorating inside (locking up that one wheel).
- Brake pads worn very thin and getting wedged in the caliper bracket.

The only relationship with the computers would be if the brakes are being applied by the dynamic vehicle control but then you might hear or feel the ABS pump doing it.

Are you sure it's the brakes as opposed to the transmission locking up?

Two times it was quite severe. It was as if I slammed the brakes on. I don’t know maybe it could’ve the tranny. The only service done recently has been tires and oil changes.
