brake's lights won't turn off
#2
Got a "blue" crayon thing in the floor board.....pedal stop is gone. There is a fuse in the underhood fuse panel you can pull to keep the battery from going dead. Then go to the dealer and get a new stop....46505-SA5-000......

If that is the issue, pretty sure it is. Very simple, the hardest part is getting your head down where your feet go while driving....Once you confirm the "stop" is gone and you have the new one. Get your head down by the pedals, use one hand to press the brake down, insert new plug.....done. Did this for a co-worker ~ 2 months ago, took 5 minutes-tops...ok there was the 5 minutes in the morning where I opened the driver door and saw the "crayon"/plastic thing on the floor under the pedals (all I needed to see, knew what the problem was), opened the hood and pulled the fuse for them so the battery didn't go dead.

I see this is an old post, but it's a new problem for me, hoping to get some help. I found the broken "crayon" pieces under the brake pedal. When I got under there I couldn't tell if the part should be pressed in the hole from the driver's seat side or from behind from the engine side. Mechanically it seems to make sense to put it in from the engine side of the hole, but the parts diagram looks like it's showing it going in from the driver's seat side. Thx in advance.

The flat portion or the disc side faces the brake pedal switch. Based on your question, it would be installed from the driver's seat side where the push-pin/clip is pointing away from the brake pedal switch when installed.

Yes, that makes more sense than what I was initially thinking -- so the flat part of the "grommet" is sitting between the switch head and the metal of the brake-pedal arm and the pointed end is facing the engine. Thx!!
