Default Break lights work, sort of

So I have a 2000 Honda Accord ex, it’s a 2 door coup with the V6. My break lights turn on when I turn my headlights on, but when I push on the brake the lights don’t get any brighter like they used to. I’ve checked fuses, changed the bulbs, checked the brake switch behind the peddle, still nothing. I don’t have any lights on my dash. Am I missing something to check?

You may have a grounding problem or an OPEN on the brake wire.
If you have a volt meter, take the bulb out and check that you get voltage on the brake light contact when someone pushes the brakes.
Are you SURE the brake switch in the pedal is good?

double checked the break light switch. The pin inside of it was destroyed, fixed that issue. Thanks for the tips tho
