Drilled hole in first cap right to left, ahhhhhh should the bit gone through out bottom into intake? If not taking cap off and plugging bottom, there is a cap on right side, well timing belt side, of passages, drilled a hole through that one, and could send a wire to the egr end, nothing blocking path, just some blew out, ok broke a tip of a tapping tool, in hole, able to unscrew it with wire cutters, the next tapered mark was perfect for this tool PAHONDA slide hammer putting together. Thanks PAHONDA!! The cap on right is the one I sent bit through into the intake .

canals

Sent wire to rgr end, no blockage, oh i did spray quit a bit carb cleaner in that end hole first, drained out egr end.

Wire seen coming through intake.

Ended up expanding holes in caps, used a long wire,, able to bend tip fish it through passages between cap and manifold, used drill,, cleaned, even from egr port, fished it through, hooked drill, cleaned, air pushed chunks carbon out holes.got all parts in, valve lapping tool and compound also. Forgot jb epoxy to fill holes in caps. The 1/4 in holes can be tapped and plugged also. So excited and anxious, didn't center first holes in caps, so cant drill out whole cap this time around. Ok new valve seals, lap, clean head and put the head on.

Getting her cleaned up, throw a new crank shaft seal on there now, then finish putting head together and on, thinking, pop engine drain flush that antifreeze and left over bar s gasket repair ship that's in there.
Or should I just flush with water pump off, through thermostat entrance once head s installed?

Ooops springs and retainers got knocked off my bench, laid in the order they came off head, all on the floor. Don't see no difference in any, or any marks, is there a difference between intake and exhaust valve springs? Thanks

Hmmmm guess it's ok..
2 intake valves installed, found my 6 inch c-clamp, jb welded a copper tube on with a cutout to install keepers, fell apart after intakes installed, and 1 exhaust attempted, forgot my bolt that takes place of c-clamp attachment, So let that jb cure couple hours, clean it up,. find attachment Get back on it.

So seen that c-clamp with PVC cut out glued on, and another video with vice grips, 5/8ths spark plug socket, and plastic between retainers and socket, no manual keeper installation. Put plastic between copper cutout and retainer compressed, no manual keeper installation. Couple few had to do twice, new plastic every couple sets did the trick.
finishing head now, hopefully fire this baby up this evening.

Hmmm yea leave bolts in rocker arm assembly, fun. Practically have to dismantle assembly to get it together right.

?????? Ugh, head is together, camshaft fastened down in tdc, rocker arm assembly torqued to specifications. both #2 exhaust slightly open, #4 intakes open, going by memory, is that how tdc is on head. Those valves mentioned, lash adjusters fully loosened, have no rocker arm movement.
thanks,
