Default A/C pressure lines

Anyone know how to clear the A/C lines on a 96 model? It is filled with some kind of test gases and I need to refill the freon.

place the system under a vaccum for at least a few hours to remove all the crap in there. When refilling the system include a dye that will allow you to dectect leaks.

Any quick fix I can do at home (without having to hook up the vacum system)?

Not unless you have a vacuum pump, manifold gauge set, micron pressure gauge, halogen leak detector.......

AC repairs other than an occasional refrigerant charge are best left to the professionals.
