Default Can anyone tell me what this is...

Sup guys,

Can anyone tell me what this is and what does it do? It is attached to the firewall behind the engine of a 2000 Accord EX v6.

The reason i ask is because I just noticed today this hose was disconnected which was attached to that black cylinder thing.

Go to Autozone website, and enter your vehicle under "My Vehicles". They you'll have access to pictures of engine compartment under Emission Control/Component Locations.

I thought it might be evaporative emissions cannister. It traps excess vapor from fuel tank and releases later to engine.

good luck

Might just be a vacuum storage cannister too. Just stores a volume of vacuum to keep the vacuum more stable on that line.

On a 2000 Accord the EVAP canister is under the car, beneath the left-rear seat. So that's not it.

I don't get a good sense for where in the engine compartment that's located. Overall shot for some better idea what neighborhood that is in?
