It's on my 2014 accord. Close to the oil pan.

The fixed part of the right-side drive axle. But maybe the oil is dripping down from the oil filter when the filter is changed??

That is the intermediate shaft and bearing, but I don't think that is the source of your leak.

Have you had an oil change on your vehicle recently?

Just saw Jim Blake asked basically the same question while I was typing my response.

I do my own oil changes and haven't gotten any oil on that shaft. The oil filter is on the other side of the oil pan, so it couldn't have come from the filter. Unless it's some other fluid dripping down from above.

Exactly what engine/transmission? I thought the oil filter was on the back of the block (4-cyl K-series engine).

I'm losing my orientation, the photo is too close in. At the bottom of the photo is that the carrier-bearing or the seal where the shaft poked into the transmission? That can be losing it's seal and the transmission oil is coming out.

It's a 2.4L CVT. The filter is on the front side of the oil pan, shaft is on backside.

Oil/Trans fluid can find the path of lease resistance and may drip in a location far from the source. Look around the entire engine bay for signs of leaking. Check your fluid levels for the oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, etc to see if any are low.

Was any work done on your car between the last time you looked at this area and when you noticed the intermediate shaft coated with fluid?
