Question Can I use Ultra Black Permatex for a oil pan gasket?

I was doing maintainance and I was going to replace my oil pan gasket. I was wondering if I would have any problem substituting a gasket with Ultra Black permatex or equivilent? I plan to drop the pan tomorrow, and I just wanted what fellow techs think. Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't do that for an engine that's supposed to have a pan gasket.

In 1998 the pan didn't have a gasket, you just use sealant. But the pan is different.
