Default Can you problem solve this?

I have a 99 Accord, manual transmission. Over the past few months, about 4-5 times, while driving, the engine will be running smoothly and then lose power for a split second(RPMs will go down), but not turn off and then continue to run smoothly for a few more weeks until it happens again. Lately, when starting the car, it will seem to start (sound and RPMs) as I turn the key, but as soon as I turn the key back, it will die. After a few times of this, it will adventually start. I've tried changing spark plugs. Any thought about what it might be?

Can you check the elect part of the ign switch. Sounds like it is cutting out. Try wiggling the key while it is running, not a true test but will help.

Call the dealer to see if yours has been replaced under the recall...might get one for free.

If you can get it to die by wiggling the key, that means it's the switch.

If you can get it to keep running by holding the key just a bit, not letting it completely spring back, that means it's the switch.

But if you can't make either one of those happen, that doesn't prove the switch is good. It could still be a bad switch, but needs more of a proper test.
