Pulling new metal EGR port plugs
I did the EGR port cleaning on my 93 Accord & didnt do every step to my liking. So I was thinking of doing it again cuz it was so quick. My question is has anyone tried pulling out the new metal cup shaped EGR plugs? Im afraid cuz they are so thin that when pulled with a slide hammer that they will just tear or split making more of a mess.

If they're not expensive just replace them.
Only other possibility is trying to grab above-flush edges w/ needle-nosed pliers and work them up/out.
I suspect that required replacement is intent of new design. Old design solid plugs could be re-used by filling drill-through holes w/ epoxy. That won't work w/ a thin shell plug similar to a freeze plug.
good luck

texashonda - they r a $1 ea, its not price. When I tapped them in I put them flush w/ the intake body so I can grab them w/ pliers. Im just curious if them being so thin that when I pull them they will tear cuz there is only one thread if that when the puller goes in (the brass plugs were a good 1/8"+)
Thanx

Similar to old plugs, you'll have to careful not to rip the screw out of the body,... a lot more careful. However, I think you might be able to pry them out w/ a screwdriver punched through and under one side.
You might try to talk to a Honda mechanic who has some experience. I bet they know how to get them out.
good luck
