Can't access air filter
'06 Accord Hybrid. One of the air filter housing screws has a wiring harness from the fuse box directly over it. A cable clamp keeps the harness in place and it appears that I can't release the clamp without destroying it. I am an experienced technician, having rebuilt a cyclotron of all things. I can't believe Honda forces you to destroy the plastic cable clamp in order to replace the air filter.
What's the secret? (I did do a search first)

I've replaced the engine air filter on my own 05 HAH. The top of the air box can't be opened up completely due to the clamp, so don't try to. Just try to pry the top open wide enough after taking out all the screws, so that you can pull the old filter out and squeeze the new one in...

2006 Accord air filter
Well, I got it replaced. It wasn't easy. Three cables limit lifting the cover just enough to remove the filter. Force was necessary. Had to cut two cable retainers to get the fredom to lift the filter cover.
Saw something similar on a 2001 Saab. After cutting the cable ties, I re-positioned the wire bundle just slightly with new cable ties. Then I had barely enough room to fit a screwdriver to loosen the aircleaner bolts.
It's annoying that they don't build cars to be easily maintained, only to be easily assembled.

I didn't get it done. I was quoting jpulone, who said he had to cut two cable retainers before he could do it. Today I took the car to the dealer to have a door lock actuator replaced under warranty, and mentioned I couldn't get the airbox open. Well, a mechanic there did without cutting anything. He said he pushed the cable aside enough to get the screw out. I don't see how, but he did get it open. I pushed on the cable as hard as I dared and it didn't budge. Oh well, it wasn't his car.
