Default Can't Fix Squeaky Car Door

I own a 2000 Accord EX sedan ( 4 cyl., A/T ). My driver's door squeaks when I open and close it. The squeak seems to occur primarily when the door approaches the fully opened position. It sounds like the squeaking is coming from the door check. With the door fully opened I've lubed the door check and hinge with three different lube products, including lithium grease. No meaningful improvement. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think you are taking about what honda calls the detent rod.....the one between the actual hinges.....I think there is a small roll pin on the body side, pop it out and try putting lube on it and work it. Also, my memory is bad, I think there is a small foam "pad" around that rod, might have to pull it towards the body side of the car to get the lube behind it.
