Hello,

Son has a 1995 Accord sedan (6 cyl.) that apparently needs a new battery.

Would appreciate you opinions as to the following, as neither of us are very car technical knowledgeable.

Live in New England, and gets pretty cold up here.

a. What CCA should he go for ?
(is this recommendation larger than what came with the car ?)

b. What else is important ?

c. What brands are highly thought of these days, and, I guess, even more important, which to stay away from ?

If I were you, I would go with an Optima battery. They have the most CCA's and they're deep cycle gel cells, so they would be perfect for you! Even though they cost more than your run of the mill battery, they will pay themselves off in spades! They're all I buy!
