why is it when u really need your car, say like a date, your car breaks down or somthing else happens. well i got about 5 blocks from my house and the stopped at the stop sign then went to hit the gas the egine just reved, i threw it in park and back into drive and still did nothing. almost like it was in nuetral. so i tried reverse and it worked, thank god, so i drove home in reverse. the next day i looked at it in the sunlight and i hah full amount of fuild in the trandmission and it seemed to work just fine until the engine heated up and it wouldnt move at all not even reverse. does anyone know what this could be. im hoping not a new tranny. maybe a torque converter??? idk pls help

 

sounds like shift solenids have gone bad, or maybe a shift linkage has broken. or maybe the tranny fluid is so worn out it wore out the entire unit.

 

how could i go about checking those parts?!?!?

 

Does the drive when it is in D2 as well?

 

well i have D4,3,2,1 and once my cars starts to heat up (4-5 min) i loss all of them but still have reverse but when the car reaches running temp the reverse goes away. ive also notice with i lose my gears the idle sits a 1rpm insteed of 750rpm, i dont know if that means anything, i also heard loud click 2 times when i changed gears.

 

if it's fine when the engine is cold and doesn't move when the engine is hot, most likely the transmission is shot.

at least its very easy to do that transmission.

 

and very exspinsive??? does any want to buy a accord with a bad tranny lol?
