Car won't start, brake pedal stiff
2006 Accord lx v6
My car has power, but will not start. I think it has to do with the fact that my brake pedal is very stiff. I believe that you have to put your foot on the brake pedal in order to start the car. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I don't know how to put my car info into my signature, sorry.

The signature is entered under User CP. You also have to check a box to show the signature. I may do a writeup on that, because it is confusing.
Saying that your car will not start is vague. Normally, you turn the key to start the car and the starter cranks the engine. Then the engine fires up (runs on it's own) and that is when your release the key. Is your car not cranking, or firing up when you turn the key?
Also, do your brake lights turn on when you press the brake pedal?

You should first check your battery connections. Then check the voltage of your battery across the posts, and if the connections appear corroded I would check voltage on the connections side to rule out battery film on the battery posts preventing connections.
If those check out, I would then check for battery voltage at the small smarter wire that connects to the starter via a connector. It should get battery voltage when you turn the ignition to start. If you do not get voltage something before the starter is bad. If you do get voltage then the starter contacts are likely bad. You can get starter contacts for around $20 online or at larry b's starter contacts. It's fairly easy to swap them in. Or you can choose to replace the starter altogether which will be a lot more.
