Unhappy Ce1 Accord Problems

Hey guys I'm new here and I just bought a used 1994 Honda accord ex wagon about 180k miles about a month ago, I changed the oil, spark plugs, wires, master cylinder, and it was throwing a CODE 9 so I replaced the distributor as well, but for some reason the car starts really rough until the CEL comes back on { Like it did before I replaced the distributor } , after a while of driving if I turn the car off then back on there is no CEL and runs perfectly fine.
.
The right rear blinker has never worked I have replaced the bulb and it still doesn't work, the blinker light on the dash blinks faster then the left one by a lot, and the same right rear brake light seems to flicker and sometimes work and sometimes not work, the brake lamp light pops on on the dash after driving for a bit as well.

There is also rainwater getting into the car only getting the floor carpet soaked in the front and the back only on the passenger side and puddling in the trunk only on the passenger side as well, it looks like it's been happening for a while now because there is corrosion and rust on the seat rails and mold starting to grow, my guess is the sunroof drains, which they were filthy when I looked at them, so I unclogged the one in the back, I don't know if I was able to unclog the front one fully I will have to wait until it rains to find out.

The Automatic Transmission shifts a little hard as well.

Also My dad while following me said there was blueish smoke coming from the exhaust when I full throttle, I don't see it when I look back through the window tho.

Bought the car for $1,900 in the dark while it was raining. My mistake 😅

You have several problems. The sunroof drain is the first place I'd look for the leak. Getting the car dry then putting a garden hose on the roof should help verify if you solved the water problem.

Did the same code 9 CEL return with the new distributor?

The rear blinker can be a wiring problem on the positive side or the ground side of the circuit. A voltmeter or test light can help narrow down what side of the circuit is having an issue. The ground for that turn signal is under the driver's taillight in the trunk for the sedan. I don't have a layout of the wagon, but suspect it is similar.

Search the web for cd7_cd9.pdf for a 94 shop manual. You can find sites that you can download for free. It should cover most items for your 94 wagon.

yes the code 9 CEL only comes on when I first start it, it also struggles to start, some times it will start fine but have the CEL but sometimes it will start then stutter out and die but then I can get it to start if I give it gas but the CEL comes on with code 9. and will last until I drive it for a while and turn the car off, then starts fine no CEL

I just bought a multimeter today I don't really know how to test the turn signal and the wires.

I didn't think about this yesterday. Do the turn signals behave the same way when you turn on the hazard lights? The turn signals and hazards are on the same wires/bulb.

Practice on the battery with your multi-meter to test voltage. The meter should have a dial that you switch to V with a straight solid line and a straight dashed line above it. The red meter lead should be plugged into the meter where it says V, the black meter lead into com. The red meter tip goes to the + battery terminal, the black meter tip to the - battery terminal. You should read about 12.6V. If you move the black meter tip to a different ground location (any bare metal typically a bolt), you should get the same reading. Hope this makes sense. If not, watch some youtube videos on how to use your multi-meter on a battery.

For any code 9, the problem can be the sensor in the distributor, the wiring/electrical connectors, or the ECU. TexasHonda had a post on here many years ago describing the same problem, where replacing the ECU fixed the issue. I'd recommend finding the OEM part number for your ECU on a site like hondapartsnow.com. I'd find a u-pull-it junkyard and find the same part number from a 94/95 accord.

Hazards blink normal speed but the right rear bulb doesn't work.

I will go out and mess with the multi meter a bit, I did try a little bit yesterday while the hazards and blinkers were on and I was getting power to the socket so its probably just grounding out somewhere? I'm new to wiring I've heard it can be a pain sometimes lol.
