Default RE: CEL Code?

Ok, did the test on the VSS sensor and found that all my electrical connect where fine. I didn’t get the reading out of my VSS sensor like I was suppose to so my best educated guess was the VSS sensor was bad. I didn’t know how to check my throttle sensor to see if that could be bad since I was getting the throttle sensor code as well with the speed sensor code. Since the cheapest part to replace was the VSS sensor from e-bay for $20, I took that route. The part finally came in and I started the swap. It was an easy DIY, the only issues was the part was hard to get to and put back in. I erase the code by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery (have the radio code) then went for a good 10 minute drive. Problem is solved with no codes. Thank god and everyone else’s help in the matter.
Talk to a Honda auto tech. and he said that it would’ve cost me $300 just for that job at the stealership. $160+ for parts and1hour labor (rate $105/hr). He said that I should’ve use OEM parts but $20 vs. $160, I’ll take my chances. Hope this thread helps anyone else who have the same issue.

Good to hear you got it fixed. I believe we 95-97 V6 owners are a pretty rare breed. I am getting to know my way around that engine compartment pretty well these days. I always enjoy hearing someone DIY'ed a job for $20 that a dealer would have charged $300 for.
