Default Check engine light

My vehicle had an emissions inspection on Friday Nov 11 and the following day my check engine light came on and has been on ever since. It was not on prior to the inspection. I drive a 2001 Honda Accord EX with a V6 engine. In the past, the check engine light would come on simply because the gas cap was not screwed on tight enough. So I would unscrew the cap and screw it back on tighter and eventually, the light would go off. I tried that fix but the light is still on and this is the 5th day. What else can I do to solve this problem?
And by the way, my vehicle did pass the emissions test.

Thanks

Go to AutoZone or someplace like that. Have them read the error code.

Post back with the actual error code number (like P1234 or something). Don't just get the guy's explanation.

There's like 200 different things that MIGHT be causing the CEL to come on. Why guess when the parts store will read the code for free.

Check anyway. Error codes are stored even when the problem "goes away". That's a big help in diagnosing those problems that never happen when the mechanic is watching.
