My car is old but the check engine light will come on out of no where it sometime won't buy will at random and my car will not shift correctly... Any ideas!?

 

You can retrieve the trouble code(s) and posted it on this forum which may help narrow down the stalling problem and the shifting problem. See link for retrieving trouble code(s).

For the intermittent shifting problem, it may turn out to be the Transmission Control Unit (TCU), which is a relatively common problem on your generation Accord (Is your car a 1990?). See link:
