Default Check engine light solid code?

I'm having some transmission issues on my 92 accord lx automatic... I jumped the odb1 connector to get the codes and when i turn the key on the d4 light doesn't come on but the check engine light stays solid... is this a code? am I doing something wrong?

Also just in case anyone knows what the problem is, my tranny randomly downshifts to neutral and I have to restart the car to get it to engage again... already replaced the shift and lock sylonoids...

I had issues with my '91 and from the research I've done, if you can't pull a code your TCM is bad.

If there's no error codes stored, the CEL is supposed to come on solid when you jumper the SCS connector & turn on the key.

..
you are not doing anything wrong,,,,,,,if there are no codes stored in the ecu,, when you jump the connector the lite will stay on solid.......normal ...

according to the symptoms that you are describing it sounds like an issue with the TCM ..

.BUT have it properly diagnosed by a shop ( specializing in hondas or Dealer ) before you replace it ..

I have had the TCM apart and didn't see the normal burnt parts, but it did have a sticker saying it was rebuild in 03... could it still be the problem?
