Default 92 honda accord solid d4 light on?

hey just thought i would see if someone on here can help me with problem i am having. 92 honda accord d4 light is on solid and when i check codes get 1,2,7,8 i know this is lock-up and switch solenoids. strange thing is have already checked these and they seem to be clicking. can disconnect battery and it will run fine for a little while. also just maybe i should mention that car will shift into gear sometimes without brakes being hit. really need some advice local trans shop said without looking but by waht i was telling them it might be tcu. thanks new to forum first post.

It sounds like it is a TCU problem. Go to the site car-part.com to find a used TCU by price or distance.

Another member is having a similar problem right now. See:

checked out other post, think it might be the tcu can't tell by looking at board of tcu (don't see any burned resisters capacitors, etc.) someone had mentioned though that could not always tell by looking. thanks for reply and help.

Palmer it sounds like the TCU for sure to me. I had the same problem and bought a new TCU on ebay for $80 and the problem is gone. The TCU is under the carpet on the passenger side floor board . Easy to do it yourself..

Palmer i had the exact same problem less then a year ago. when i let it go for too long it eventually stopped shifting as well. i replaced the TCU with a used one and it fixed the problem but i inherited a new problem some time down the road.

sure i don't mind telling you what my new problem is. my new problem i posted about here: https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...roblems-42571/ but i will briefly go through it here for you. the D4 light started flashing accompanied by shifting problems. it would start out feeling like it was perhaps in the wrong gear, like for example it was in 2nd, 3rd or 4th not wanting to move like it normally would and then once it got going didn't want to shift gears (which if it was in the wrong gear to begin with it couldn't switch gears to go faster) before i pulled the "back up" fuse the last time it would only shift if i shifted it manually. when i pulled the "back up" fuse to reset the codes it shifted perfectly again. the light hasn't started flashing again in over a week, which i'm thinking has to be the computer. i believe if it was something else it would have failed again a long time ago. when i can afford it i am going to buy another TCU (most likely another used one) and hopefully this one will last longer before failing again.
