Check engine light still on after MX
2000 Honda Accord 4cyl -- Checked codes at auto parts store. It translated to bad catalytic converter, O2 sensors, and suspect engine timing. Repaired/replaced the Catalytic converter, O2 sensors (upstream and downstream). Still shows the timing is off but engine runs fine. Seem to remember several years ago replacing a sensor for the engine timing. Don't remember where it is located. Does anyone have any ideas/recommendations.
Up through 2002-model, you can clear the codes by disconnecting the battery or pulling a fuse. In your case, fuse-13 in the end of the dashboard near the right-side door hinges.
If your repairs didn't fix the real problem, the CEL will come back on. OTOH, if you fix the problem, the CEL will eventually go out but error codes can remain stored.
What's the actual code number(s)?

I reset the code and both lights(check engine and maint ) remain out. The only code remaining after the repair was the catalytic converter. There's no way for the on-board computer to recognize that replacement. Had the car emissions checked and all is working well. Thanks for you recommendations.
