Using the correct air/fuel ratio sensor in the exhaust manifold should take care of the P1166, P1167, and P1164 codes.

no guarantees but likely. One CEL will often trigger a bunch more. fix the original problem and usually it goes away.

Probably. You may want to check Rock Auto for closeouts if you're hurting for cash. I'd put only a Denso or NGK in my car but if money were tight I might consider another brand for a big enough price break. Or if money is really tight consider a used, junkyard part as a previous poster mentioned just to get by for a while.

Post Please help me I can't figure out what's wrong

I have a 01 accord LX Manual and my check engine light has been coming on for months now. I replaced the O2 sensor with the honda O2 and because its a ULEV motor the after market sensor wouldn't work. Also replaced the SRS sensor and the fuel injectors. Codes being read are P1164 and the heat oxygen sensor. I can't keep throwing money at the car. I'm a single mom and can't do any of the work myself. The car hesitates like it is not getting enough air intake or exhaust. I don't smell rotten eggs and the Cat doesn't glow like its stopped uyp. Please help me figure out what's wrong. I'm conserned at this point that it may be the ECU because everytime I fix a code a new one seems to come up within 500miles. I'm taking it to Honda today, but because I'm a chick I'm worried they are going to try to rip me off. Thank you

Default ULEV VTEC 2001 Accord , how I got my check engine light off p1166 p1167

Check engine came on, codes p1166 and 1167
, upstream 02 sensor heater went out. Replaced with 50$ Bosch that cord was slightly small went back and got walker brand that was 3$ cheaper. BOTH did not turn my check engine light off, it immediately came back after manually turning it off with the same code. Pretty frustrating, did research which made me check my fuses (heater fuse) it was all good. Went to pick and pull and pulled out a denso 192400-1020, installed it in the parking lot, reset light and it stayed off after 10 mile drive on the freeway and city driving for about it 10-15 minutes. My conclusion, the ULEV motor in my accord, and yours


if you have this problem with CEL staying on after upstream replacement, must be sensitive with what upstream 02 sensor you put in there since the one I got from pick and pull was a more expensive model upon looking it up. Fyi, pick in pull is a salvage yard on the west cost . Hope this helps someone.
