Clicking sound
Hi,
I have a 96 Accord with automatic trasmission. When I start the car and press the break pedal I hear a clicking sound coming from the gearbox. It click ones, when I press the pedal and second time when I release it. However it doesn't click the second time if I shift from P to D and release the pedal. It clicks only while in P position. Seems like the sound is right under the cover of the gearbox. Does anyone have ideas? Thank you.

There is no "gearbox" under the center console, there is however a shift lock solenoid.
It has a safety purpose, you can't shift out of park unless you are holding the brakes.
