Clunking!!!

My clutch clunks when I engage it. Or even if I'm going slow in 1st gear, let off the gas, then when I get back on it clunks. Any ideas?
Oh it's 97 4cyl 5 spd

i'd start by checking the motor and trans mounts.

How long since you've had your axles and C/V joints inspected?

I agree with the doc. Also maybe check for anything close to the frame that could be hitting when the engine moves from rpm change.
