clunking sound when turning/AC usage in accord 98
hi guys, i am using accord 98 Lx, 4cylinders, auto trans, 2.3L. With mileage 203,000. if i were to travel with the AC on for a long journey how can i know how much fuel is being consume by putting on the AC? Presently when i turn the steering to the left at a bend it makes a clunking sound repeatedly at the front wheel, but when moving straight no sound is heard. What are the likely causes? Hoping to hear from you soon. Thanks
Usual source of this noise is worn anti-sway bar bushings where they join the lower arm. Easy DiY repair. Replace both sides at same time.
AS guide bushings (2) on straight center section may need to be loosened to allow engagement of bushing stack on both ends of AS bar.
AC reduces fuel mileage by 5-10% in my experience, but well worth the cost in hot climate. Houston would be a ghost town w/o auto AC.
good luck
