Default Clutch clutch clutch

Hey gang,
I have a 2000 Accord, 200,000km 5 speed VTEC.
I have recently changed the clutch, fly wheel was ok, but I find this clutch is wearing very quickly. I also have a sqeek or squak when i depress the clutch pedal. Are the two problems related? The squak has been there since before the clutch change. I would hate to have to tear my car apart again to change the clutch so I'm hoping there is another solution. Could it just be a bad clutch?

does it squeak only when you push the pedal up and down ?? did you lube the fork oivot when you had the tranny off?

try something.. pull the rubber boot off where the clutch fork is at slave cylinder, have someone depress the clutch pedal back and forth, get a can of wd-40 and spray where the fork pivots ..

as for clutch wearing very quickly ,, do you ride the clutch?? ( keep the foot on it ) ?? was it a cheap clutch assembly ??

does you clutch chatter or shudder when you engage it? if it does, then thats because you didnt have the flywheel resurfaced when you changed out the clutch.

I will try the WD40, it only squeaks when i press and let out the clutch, usually when its closest to the floor. The Squeak isnt the pedal itself, but I can feel it in the pedal.
As for riding the clutch, no. I bought my car with 130,000km on it and I put the last 70,000 on the clutch before it went. The clutch assembly was not made by Honda, just OEM quality.

And no, there is no shudder when I let out the clutch.

My poor Honda

How fast is it wearing out? Can you smell burnt clutch? Or is it losing grip?

I've had it on for about 6 weeks now. When I first put it on it grabbed when the pedal was 1/4 of the way off the floor, now its more like 3/4.

it *could* be the clutch just wearing in. If you really think there is a problem though, you're probably right.
