I have the check engine light on now with the "needs maintance" light on also. Took the car to Auto Zone and this is the code that came up. P 1457, I looked it up -EVPA-emissions control system leak detected (control canister system). Could you tell me about this ? A sensor that needs replaced or the canister? The guy at Auto Zone cleared the code check engine light went out for a while but the "needs maintance " light stayed on. Thanks

Let's get this straight first -
Check Engine Light (CEL) means something is wrong with the engine
Maintenance light is just telling you 3000 miles have passed and you should check your oil.
P1457: I think I got this once... because my gas cap wasn't tight enough. Try tightening it at least 3 clicks, like the cap says, and see if the code will go away.
Last, but not least, post your car info in your signature and check the box to attach your signature to every post.
