code to reactivate radio does not work? Accord 2005
I know to push the 1 and the 6 and hit the power button.
That gives me my radio serial number, and I know how to find my Vin.
I also have the anti theft device paperwork, which shows me this:
21262
12103717
From doing the 1 + 6 + Power trick, I know that the serial numbers 1210 and 3717 are correct.
I don't know how to put in the 21262 and get the radio to work. What happens is the radio turns on and runs for about 2 minutes and then goes blank.
If the 21262 number is the correct code, how do I enter it? When do I enter it?
...........
AND
Was 2006 when people were stealing radios like crazy, because my stock radio is not that great of a deck, If I were a thief I would not go after the stereo in my car.
Anyway, where does the code go, because my deck will accept it and then turn off after a few minutes.
Thanks

Usually it will "ask" for the code if it is needed - the display will say "code". That is where you use the numbers to enter the five digit code.
If your is cutting in and out and not "asking" for the code I would guess something else is wrong with it.

I got it to work, here was the problem
I entered so many screwed up codes that it confused the radio.
The solution is to take the negative wire off of the battery again. Let all the codes get erased from the radio and then start again. (take it off and put it back on after about 15 seconds)
As soon as I cleared all the messed up codes, the radio turned on and asked me to enter the code. I entered the code and the radio works.
(not just for the 2 minutes like it did before, but it worked for at least 20 minutes, so I assume it is fully functional again)
Thanks for all of your help.

Yea, I forgot to say that part. You get a "few tries" (4~5 ?) before it goes into the "error" mode - forget what the displays says or does in that mode. Yes from there to get it back to "code" you have to remove power from the radio - pull the back up fuse, remove "plug" to the radio, disconnect the battery, ect.
Glad it is working now and hope it stays that way
