Default coil or igniter?

ive got a 94 accord that wont start. ran rough then died. had it towed. its getting gas and starting fluid but wont fire. its getting spark at the plug end and timing is good.does this car incorporate a coil or igniter?what should i check next? ive already eliminated fuel . the spark was a yellowish blue and all 4 plugs sparked. fuses are good. check engine light comes on then goes off as normal.i had reset cel before checking codes. at this point cel goes off as it should.im stumped.

If you have a timing light, check spark w/ induction pickup attached to lead. No flash means no spark.

if not, coil is likely. Internal short reducing output voltage too low for spark to jump plug when under pressure in cylinder head.

You may want to do a compression test.

You may also want to actually read the timing, since you have a light.

EX has internal to distributor coil and ignitor, while LX/DX has external coil and internal ignitor.

good luck

if it wont fire with starting fluid it has to be a spark issue even though im getting some sort of spark.ive got good vacuum at intake when cranking so im thinking compression is ok . can low ompression keep an engine from starting?

Compression has to be very low for no start. Suggest checking to rule out.

Have you tried starting w/ starter fluid? If it won't catch at all w/ starter fliuid, spark must be the problem.

good luck

Your car has both ICM and coil.

Just me but your description of the spark....yellow to blue....outside of the cyl has me worried about spark. How old are the plugs? What trim level is the car or does it have an internal or external coil?

You've done the starter fluid, you've check the "wires" for voltage with a timing light....
