Common Honda Power Window Problem?
I have a 2002 2DR Ex with 140,000 miles. Three years ago at 100,000 miles, when I replaced timing belt, I replaced (non-dealer garage near where I worked) the water pump and replaced the motor/regulator on the passenger side window. Although the water pump started leaking recently, the window repair has been perfect.
Two months ago, the driver's window failed to fully raise and set into the top gasket. I had a "mobile power window repair" replace the motor/regulator. Two weeks ago the window started raising very slow. The mobile guy will replace it but said that "Hondas have a history of repeated power window problems" and he has spent a lot of time on warranty work.
I'm concerned that these problems are related to his materials or craftsmanship, but he has a long business history and I know very little.
Has anyone experienced "repeated problems" with power window repair?
Thanks for your help.

Sounds more like an issue with the parts being used (probably aftermarket). It is not difficult to replace a power window regulator; so, there isn't much "craftsmanship".
I only used Honda OEM window regulators and they usually last a long time.
For the coupe, the motor can be separately replace from the regulator.

Dirt/grime and damage to the window run channel (rubber guide for window) can also cause too high window lift loads and damage the regulator. Suggest cleaning the window run channels thoroughly and relubing w/ shinitsu grease when replacing the regulator.
good luck
