Default Complete loss of ac trigger from cabin 07 accord euro

2007 Honda accord euro 2.4 auto right hand drive

-my mums car , she said “aircon wasn’t working great “

-I replaced the failing stereo with an Amazon “padofo” android unit

- set android stereo canbus to Honda accord 7 dual ac

- all aircon control / functions on new unit appeared to be working

- ac button toggles on and off but no cold air , so I assumed regas required

- took car to get gas and it had plenty of gas

- bridged the ac relay with blower fans going and
got cold air in car

- tested in car temp sensor and ambient/ external air temp both failed resistance so replaced with functioning second hand parts tested them before install and they both worked , once I installed new ambient sensor the new head unit displays correct outside temp

- also replaced sunlight sensor with second hand part

- tested radiator fans , the fan that has wires linked to ac compressor is functioning when power put to it and it also engages on thermo switch for temp but not ac button

-the other fan is unresponsive suspect that’s dead and need replacing / new motor

- pulled evaporator temp sensor out and tested resistance in a glass of ice water that alls seems to be dead will have to get another second hand part test for function and replace

doesn’t seem to matter what I do I can’t get this car to toggle / switch aircon on

I’m assuming something is telling it not to allow any aircon function - all though the head

any suggestions ?

next step is to get someone to put a scan tool on it I guess 🤷‍♂️

The common diy thread has a HVAC codes for the 03-07 Accords without a scanner. If the HVAC controls are the original with the new stereo, you may be able to get some HVAC codes to get some direction.

The original aircon controls are now part of the new android unit

Maybe give the HVAC code procedure a try to see if the android unit can retreive HVAC codes. Not likely, but worth a shot as it is simple to try. I'm not exactly sure how the HVAC codes get stored, so it is possible that it could work.

Default Fixed it !!!! 07 accord euro dead ac back to life for $80

So after going through all the ballache and bull**** and hours of Internet trawling I’ve fixed it and it’s thanks to another thread on this forum .

Swapped the dash cluster with one from a wreckers - $80 aud I didn’t really care what the ks where at this point as I was skeptical it would work …..

however I also swapped the evaporator temp sensor with one from the same donor car .

bang! ac working straight away no issue ! Couldn’t wipe the smile off my face .!

so if you have the issue where you can’t seem to fault the ac system in the engine bay and your ac button is going on and off but your getting no command the simple fix could be swapping out the cluster .

hopefully I can save someone the heartache of the hunt . Thanks to this forum the car is back on track for the rest of an Australian summer !

I suppose now I can stay on the hunt for a cluster with similar mileage but for now it works and that all I care about .
