Default Cooling Fan Problem

1990 Accord LX 2.2 L engine,
Cooling fan will not engage. Replaced cooling fan switch, switched fan relay with power window relay, tested fan by hooking it up to battery. Cooling fan will come on if AC is running. Temperature gauge needle moves as temperature rises. Not sure what else to check.

Thermo A is a switch on the t-stat housing (lower hose). It has a two wire green connector to it. Remove the connector and jump the two wires of the connector together, turn the key to on - Do BOTH fans come on?

Don't mean to hijack the thread here, but I've been having this same exact problem also. I have replaced the thermostat, thermoswitch on the thermostat housing, and relay with no luck. I have jumped the connector on the t-stat housing and both fans turn on. If I turn my AC on both come on.

The fans run when you jumper that connector; so that says everything (relays, fuses) in the circuit is OK except for that switch.

How high does the temperature gauge get? It should probably get above 50% before the fans come on. Sometimes (depending on climate) it's not easy to get it hot enough to come on. Seems to me Texas is plenty hot these days, but you might have to put a blanket over your grille to block the air.

This is a long read but.....https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...similar-44973/

With everything together....it can take 20~30 minutes for the fans to cylce with the hood open and the car at idle. Of course you always need to watch the temp gauge while waiting for this to happen.
