Cooling and Radiator Fans not coming on even with A/C switch to ON
just one more thing. what about switch B and the a/c pressure switch? the fans ran along with the compressor engaging when the a/c pressure switch was jumper. What does that mean? Do I need to check switch B also?
Thanks!
Thanks!
hey poorman212 ...
have another question for you. As I was tracing to find Switch A, I noticed that the middle cable (not the four cables that connect to the spark plugs) on the distributor cap leading to something on the other end appears to be cracked or broken off. I am not sure what the part is that the middle cable from the distributor cap connects to - is it the ignition coil or something like that?
Can you please tell me what that part is, what does it do, and how to replace/repair it?
Thanks so much!

so, switch b runs the fans when the car is turned off only if the temp is higher than normal. i wouldnt worry about that switch, as for the a/c the fans are built to turn on when the a/c is turned on, to cool the condensor radiator, the switch will be flat "no point" on it and about an inch and a half long from one end to the other, the device that is cracked is the ignition coil, it sends the spark to the distributor. if its cracked you may experience a strange idle when its moist or wet out, i would replace it just cause ive had probs with this device in my vdub many times. to test i would get a spray bottle full of water and spray it while its running DONT SOAK IT!!! 2 sprays should be enough, at night you will see a white spark, and car may run rough. if it doesnt have any effect, i would buy the part and throw it in the trunk so you have it incase it does fail
no, the coil sends spark to the plugs only. will not have any efect on the switch, the switch in my car went and its a 97, i believe its a common issue on accords and possibly hondas in general, plus the switch is your fan problem, its like a light if the switch dies the light will not go on without a new one.
PIC's???? Plus PLEASE add you car info to you signature.....I'm sitting here now typing this and can't even remember what year we are dealing with. So I'm going to post this. Then have to come back to the thread and remember.....PLEASE ADD.
Ok, PLEASE don't take this the wrong way, again...add your car info to you sig. Took and extra 5 minutes to get here. First the pic might help answer some of the questions. Second the link below (add the prefix, active links are not allowed) should help with some of the testing and questions.

Please don't think I'm being an a**, really do want to help but need a little help from you.
The "thing" that is broken, please post a pic, got an idea or two but I'm not sure.
