Default Crappy Radio Signal

I have a 1991 Honda Accord LX. I recently just upgraded the whole sound system. I get a new head unit, amp, and speakers. I even got a new antenna, but the FM and AM (I don't really care about the AM that much) radio reception sucks. I can listen to a station but there is a lot of background static. I get perfect reception in my other car, so I'm wondering what I can do to get a better signal. I've seen some stuff like an antenna noise filter or a 15 db signal booster. Some people say the work and others say they have no effect. So what should I do to fix my signal problem?

I never heard someone complain about the radio signal on here, so this is likely a problem with the antenna or the wiring.

Was the radio working properly using the previous head unit?

It didn't work before either. Should I just run through the wiring?
