Default Cruise Control Won't Engage

Didnt see a posting area for electricals so i hope this is in the right place.....The green light comes on when I depress the cruise control on/off button in the dash but the controls will not engage...Im a stickler for consistent driving habits and fuel mileage so I would like to get this fixed asap since i spend about 80% of my driving time on the highway.

Is this as simple as swapping the cruise controls on the steering wheel?

This is on a 2000 accord ex coupe

Possible faulty brake light switch or needs adjustment. Also check that the horns work, the horn relay runs through to the cruise control electrical circuit.

Smile Cruise Control

Thanks for the help red bull....horn works fine and no lighting issues either, I checked the fuses and they seem to be in good working order so I guess I will replace the part on the steering wheel and see if that does the trick.....

Thanks for your help!!!

Check the brake light switch first. That is the switch under the dash and above the brake pedal. The cruise control goes off when it thinks the brakes are applied, so if the brake light switch is faulty, it thinks you applied the brakes when you didn't. Also check to see if the brake lights work properly, goes on when they should and goes off when it should.
