you really dont want to do that. First it unsafe, engineers spend time and $$ researching what size and strength of the spring rates, second you will bounce all over the road and loss all the travel the spring is made to absorb. When u cut the spring u change all the characterisics of whatg the spring was made to do. It will drive horrible, feel like **** over any bumbs. If u see a car slammed and when it hits a bump it bounces a lot and quickly its springs are cut. When u cut them they loose the abililty to carry the weight of the car aftermarket springs are made shorter but have higher spring rates to be stiffer. Everybody will tell you not to cut the springs.

When I was young I had a car with cut springs.
Hitting a bottlecap in the road hurt my neck.
Springs are cheap now - just buy a set.

there is a huge difference. A full set of coilovers are great (Tien & other but dont really dont know many other names), they have the adjustablity of height and some even have adjusters on the shock itself to customize ur ride. If u dont need height adjustment then get lowering springs and some Koni AGXs or KYB (not gr-2, for stock height). The AGXs have adjustments too or if u dont want that then Koni yellow. Springs u got Tien, Eibach, Skunk2, H&R & others that someone else may reccommend.
