CV Axel 95 Accord EX Auto
Hey guys new here and just wanted to say thanks in advance, this site is a godsend. Anyways I finally decided that I need to stop paying people to work on my own car when I can do it myself….well now I’m stuck…
I needed to replace the front right CV Axle and after HOURS of trying to get the damn bolts off I succeed, so after that the removal of the axle was cake, now here is the problem. I have looked at your DIY section and other manual types and apparently sticking the axle in the transaxle is supposedly easy, well I can’t get mine in all the way; it sticks out of the hole about 1-1 ½ inches. So after about 40 min of yelling under my car I got up and looked into the hole and sure enough there is a brass colored bar right in the middle of the hole and after measuring its probably what’s stopping the axle from going all the way in. I see no reference to this “bar” in any of the manuals I’ve include a picture to help you visual this evil bar.
Any help will be appreciated

I remember that mine was a pain to push back in the tranny, but I never looked in the tranny housing. I pushed while lying on the garage floor for a while, and the inner joint would not snap into the tranny.
What I ended up doing was laying my tire flat on the ground against the wall. I put my feet up against the tire and used my body as a lever to push it in there.

Make sure to grease the splines well before insertion. You may need to move the joint up and down slightly to get the splined end to go in all the way.
Have patience. I was in the same situation. It would not go all the way in and I could not get it to come back out. I stopped where I was and took the rest of the night off. In the morning I pulled it back out, regreased it, made sure the snap ring on the end was not open too wide and reinserted it successfully.

first off,, make sure that you have the correct axle, if you do,, turn the axle side to side in a spinning rotation while pushing it in,, make sure it is at a straight angle
Axles go in with real ease
