Default d4 codes 1 8 13 14

I got my transmission rebuilt a year ago and it has rough acceleration, so I really haven't driven it much throughout the year. Now, that I've started driving it more often I see my d4 light is still blinking like before. So, I checked the d4 codes and I get 1 8 13 and 14. What are these codes? Whatever these problems are should the transmission place have fixed these already?

With that many codes I'd suspect an electrical problem;

You might consider a trip to the trnsmission rebuilder, and ask if they will make the job right for you.

Suggest resetting the TCU (pull Backup 7.5A fuse for 20 secs) and checking whether same codes return.

good luck

Default Update

After having the TCU reset, I am now only getting codes 1 and 8. What are these codes and what do you think I should do from here?

Code 1 is LockUp Control Solenoid circuit electrical fault; solenoid, connector, wiring, or TCU circuit fault.

Code 8 is Shift Control Solenoid circuit electrical fault; solenoid, connector, wiring, or TCU circuit fault.

This must be a 90-97 (specify in your signature line). Suggest you download a manual to find the solenoids and perform electrical circuit checks to locate the faults. The solenoids may seem obvious but w/ two faults at once, I'm suspicious of wiring or TCU.

good luck

Be sure to inspect the "connector" for the solenoids, I've seen a dirty/poor connection give codes like this before.

Default Update 2

Okay, so now they've replaced the solenoids with used ones and if that doesn't work then we're replacing the TCU; which I suspect to be the culprit anyway. But, hopefully not so I won't have to put anymore money into this car right now. Trying to go on vacation in two weeks...

Talking Update # 2!

So, the transmission place only gave me codes that I already knew. I took my car to my mechanic and put in a new main relay, that was 2 days ago and I haven't had any problems at all. The d4 light doesn't flash and the car cranks up fine in hot weather now!! I'm SURPRISED everytime I crank up the car with no problem. I hope this thread helps someone with similar problems as mine..if anything changes I will definitely give another UPDATE!!
