i have a 1994 honda accord EX sedan with the 2.2l vtec motor & a 4 speed auto transmission and i have noticed that the D4 light flashes a lot (not -all- of the time, but a lot), anyone have any idea why?

you got some issue (s) with the tranny .........
read the code and post it here, it will give us more of an idea of what is going on ..

 

does your speedo quit working? If it does, it is most likely your VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor)

 

nope, everything works great, just the d4 light flashes every now and then.

What trouble code does it have stored? It just might tell you why the light is flashing.

 

i dont have a code reader, but do any of you know where i could pick one up for such a vehicle?

jump the blue connector located under the blove box rt side of dash,,,,,,,,,make sure to jump the connector that ONLY has 2 wirtes on it next to it there is another connector that has 3 wires.......
anyho,, get a paper clip, jump those 2 wires together, put the key on and count the # of blinks on the dash,,,, let it repeat 2-3 times to make sure there is only 1 code and that you read it properly

 

thanks, but how do i tell what the code is (what if there are 4 flashes-what is it, or what about 6? etc...)?
