I have a 1990 accord ex you have already helped me solve one problem with the nc speed sensor.N ow I only have one more problem.The check engine light flashes 2 times is that o2 sensor or vss speedo works so dose cruise control car seems to run ok idles a little rough. Anyone familiar with this I would appreciate feed back .Thanks for all your help Dan

 

do they seem like long flashes or really short and quick? If speedo and cruise work then chances are it's your O2 but I wouldn't start replacing stuff until you know for sure. As a preliminary check, look at the o2 sensor, make sure the contacts are clean and there's no oil in it.

 

There is no code 2.

Code 1 is O2 sensor
Code 2 doesn't seem to exist
Code 3 is MAP sensor
Code 17 is VSS
Code 20 is ELD (I don't know if they even had an ELD in '90)

Is 1990 old enough to have an entirely different error code list?

 

No, I have the 90 Accord Shop manual and it has the same codes. Yes, they had ELD in 90 Accords.

It's also possible he has codes 1 and 10. Code one is one short flash and code 10 is one long flash.

Check your flashes carefully for long (10 times short blink duration). Short blink is < 1 sec and long blink probably 2 secs.

thanks for all your help I figured it out it"s code 12 wich is egr valve. So I wiggled the wires and the light went off that never happens huh!
