D4 light on, no start

So I got under the car and found this cable hanging. It's missing the bolts that hold it on and the cover that goes over that. What is this cable Called? I found it on a parts site but it's not listed

I

That is the shift cable. Look at the Chassis Section and click on select lever to see the part.

Awesome thanks. I can't find the "holder, control wire". That's been hard to find.

You may need to find one at a junkyard for a discontinued part. See if you have any u-pull-it yards in your area. If not, you can call your local yards to see if they'd pull one for you.

If you enter the oem part number on hondapartsonline.net, that site lists other vehicles with the identical part number.

Does the gear shifter have to be in a certain gear when I reconnect the cable thats under the car and connects to the transmission?

I think they both need to be in the same setting. If you plug in the connector to the range switch, look to see what gear the cluster indicates. If you can turn the range switch and the cluster changes the gear, then I'd probably put it neutral on the range switch and set the shift lever to neutral, then connect the cable.

Thanks ! I can't afford an OEM neutral safety switch. What brands would you recommend?

I typically recommend OEM, so I'd try the junkyard route as I don't recall ever seeing posts about the switch failing on this forum.
