the brake lamp indicator light flashes with the car door lights and brake lights on the dash board. Occasionally, the radio will crackle and go out. The flashing is intermittant - sometimes for 2 seconds on, 2 seconds off. I took to a mechanic and a honda dealer. I paid the $110 diagnostic fee - only to find out they have no idea without trying to replicate it.

I did have the ignition switch replaced twice ( once on the recall and once in 2011. I do not know if this is related, but would appreciate any insight.

 

What year is your car and is this a 4 or 6 cylinder?

I would guess this may be a 6th generation Accord (e.g., 1998 - 2002)? Possibly 6 cylinder?

If so, this may be due to the alternator.

 

If not the alternator, it might be flaky ground connections.

 

I had the alternator checked by honda and an independent mechanic. They say no problem. It is a 99 accord sedan - 4 cylinder. Any chance this is related to the 2002 recall on ignition switch?
