Default Dealer wants to replace Starter Immobilizer Assembly

Hi, struggling to find examples of this online where this was the solution.

My problem: the alarm on my 2014 Accord goes off some nights when I’m in my house or even down the block. Usually happens at 3-4 am, greatly annoying the neighbors. It happens several times in a row, then stops.

Sometimes the amber security system dash light comes on, but never any other warning lights. When this problem comes up, the key fob usually doesn’t work. I’ve never had a problem starting the ignition.

I thought the issue was maybe the hood latch sensor going off due to temperature or moisture changes early in the morning. But the service advisor tells me it’s definitely not that.

Dealer wants to replace the Starter Immobilizer Assembly, $485 for parts, plus $462 for labor.

Anyone heard of such a problem? Does this solution make sense to you guys? It’s a lot of money and I just want to make sure it will actually solve my problem.

Thanks for any help. 😃

I've heard of replacing it since the car didn't start but not of your issue

Have you had the battery sensor done on your car yet. You may want to call Honda to check.
