I was recently in a fender bender and the most signficant damage to my car was the deploying of the air bags. When I called Honda for a price quote they said $1400 to fix. And it's my understanding you can only have them replaced atthedealership. Well, needless to say, I don't have full coverage.

Iwould like to remove them both for the sole purpose of making my car driveable again. I've researched the laws, and it seems that it's legal. But there isn't a single clearlywritten guide on how to remove them after they've already been deployed. I think I have a basic idea, I'djust like tohear from an expert before I doany irreversable damage. My car is also due for inspection in just a couple of months. I'd like for it to pass inspection. I have every intention of having the airbags replaced once I have the funds sufficient to do so.
